Ahmad Sheri and Tim Jones shared the Low Net title at 2-under par at the 7-29 Low Net and Net Skins at San Marcos Golf & Country Club. Danny Andersen finished third at 1-over, while Craig Hoffman took fourth at 2-over in the one-round event.

Sheri and Jones matched each other throughout the day, both posting 2-under rounds to finish tied for first. Sheri also earned the best gross round of the tournament with a 73, and his card featured the most birdies or better in the field with three. He was especially steady late, stringing together eight straight pars or better from holes 11 through 18. Jones stayed right with him to share the top spot.

Behind the co-leaders, Andersen’s 1-over round secured third place, and his birdie 3 on the par-4 12th was the best single hole of the tournament. Hoffman followed in fourth, while David Knoche and Don Creighton tied for fifth at 3-over. 

SM MONDAY 7/27 SKINS at San Marcos Golf & Country Club was highlighted by Glen Fletcher’s best gross round of the day, a 78 in round one. Fletcher also posted the best single hole on the card, making birdie on the par-3 13th, while Victor Crumley put together the steadiest stretch of the tournament with a five-hole par-or-better run from holes 13 through 17.

David Knoche led the field in birdies or better with two for the tournament, adding another notable scoring mark in a one-round event at San Marcos.

San Marcos Golf & Country Club played host to the SM 7/26 Low Nets & G/N Skins, and the low-net race ended with a tie at the top. David Knoche and Jerald Klaahsen both finished at 6-under, with Craig Hoffman just a shot back at 5-under and John Black sitting fourth at 4-under. Jeremy Gerlach rounded out the top five at 3-under, while the rest of the field had a tougher time keeping the card tidy.

Gerlach may not have won the low-net title, but he certainly made a strong run at the headline stats, posting the best gross round with a 74, racking up the most birdies or better with five, and stringing together a 10-hole par-or-better run from hole 5 through hole 14. That’s the kind of stretch that makes a scorecard look like it knows what it’s doing. David Knoche also had a highlight of his own with a birdie 3 on the par-4 sixth.

At the other end of the board, Dylan St Sauveur finished at 3-over, Don Creighton at 4-over, and Hudak at 5-over, which is a reminder that golf can be a wonderfully humbling game. Still, everyone got through San Marcos, and the low-net fight at the top kept things interesting right to the finish.

At San Marcos Golf & Country Club, Tim Jones claimed the best gross round of the day with a 75 in round 1, setting the pace for the SM FRIDAY 7/24 SKINS event. With no format standings provided, the main story of the tournament comes through the individual round and statistical highlights.

Jones also led the field in birdie production with three birdies or better, making his round the most complete on the card. Craig Hoffman turned in the best single-hole score of the tournament with a birdie 2 on the par-3 13th, while Glen Fletcher put together the steadiest stretch of play with a five-hole par-or-better run from holes 11 through 15.

At the other end of the spectrum, Victor Crumley’s quadruple bogey 8 on the par-4 opening hole was the biggest blow-up hole of the tournament.

David Knoche won the Strokeplay Low Net title at the SM 7/22 Low Nets & Net Skins, finishing at 2 under par in the lone round at San Marcos Golf & Country Club. Craig Hoffman, Danny Andersen, and John Black all tied for second at 1 under, just one shot back, while Chris Coomer finished even par in fifth.

Knoche’s win was built on the best gross round of the day, a 76, and he closed strongly with a four-hole par-or-better streak from holes 15 through 18. Danny Andersen also made his mark with the best single hole of the tournament, a birdie 4 on the par-5 ninth. Jerald Klaahsen led the field in birdies or better with three, despite finishing at 4 over overall.

There were a few swings in the scoring as well. Chris Coomer’s biggest setback was a triple-bogey 7 on the opening hole, while Tim Jones finished at 1 over. It was a compact leaderboard throughout, with the top four separated by just a single stroke.

Team 5 won the Best Ball competition at San Marcos Golf & Country Club on July 18, finishing at 13-under to claim the top spot in the SM 7/18 Net BB & Team Net Skins event. Team 2 took second at 10-under, with Team 4 third at 8-under. Teams 1 and 6 tied for fourth at 7-under, while Team 3 rounded out the standings at 4-under.

The winning team set the pace from the start and never let go, posting the low round of the day at 13-under. Team 2 stayed within striking distance but finished three shots back, while Team 4 also put together a strong round to secure third. The tie for fourth reflected a solid middle of the board, with Teams 1 and 6 matching 7-under scores.

Among the individual notes, Newman Schufflebarger posted the best gross round with a 75 and led the field with three birdies or better on the day. Steven Howard put together the tournament’s longest par-or-better run, making six in a row from holes 5 through 10 in round 1. Miles Adkins recorded the best single hole with a birdie 2 on the par-3 third, while Tye Wagner suffered the biggest blow-up hole with a quintuple bogey 8 on the par-3 13th.

David Knoche won the Strokeplay Low Net competition at the SM 7/15 Low Nets & Net Skins, finishing at 1-over par. Steven Howard took second at 2-over, while Chris Saltzman, Danny Andersen, and Terry Erhart shared third at 4-over.

With only one round played at San Marcos Golf & Country Club, the leaderboard was decided on the opening day. Knoche’s round of 1-over was enough to edge Howard, who posted the best gross round of the tournament with a 74 and also put together the longest par-or-better stretch, five straight holes from No. 5 through No. 9. Knoche also led the field in birdies or better with two, including the best single hole of the day, a birdie 4 on the par-5 17th.

Further down the board, Craig Hoffman finished sixth at 5-over, and Dan Polidori was seventh at 10-over after a quadruple bogey 8 on the par-4 sixth, the biggest blow-up hole of the tournament.

Saltzman/Carroll won the Two Man Scramble at the SM SAT 7/11 SCRAMBLE at San Marcos Golf & Country Club, finishing at 10-under-par to beat Knoche/Black by three shots. Toivinen/Hoffman took third at 5-under, while Matsey/Hudak finished fourth at 1-over.

The winning team set the pace with a strong opening round of 10-under and never let up. Knoche/Black posted 7-under to secure second, while Toivinen/Hoffman stayed in the mix at 5-under. Matsey/Hudak finished well back after a 1-over round.

David Carroll posted the best gross round of the day with a 68 and also made the best single hole score, a birdie 3 on the par-4 7th. Chris Saltzman added plenty of firepower as well, recording five birdies or better and a 17-hole par-or-better streak from hole 1 through hole 17. The biggest setback of the event belonged to Chris Matsey, who made a triple-bogey 7 on the par-4 16th.

Chris Matsey won the Strokeplay Low Net at SM 7/8 Low Nets & Net Skins with a 5-under-par total, finishing two shots clear of Craig Hoffman, who took second at 3-under. Ahmad Sheri and David Knoche tied for third at even par, while Victor Crumley rounded out the top five at 2-over.

Matsey’s winning round was built on steady play from start to finish. He posted the best gross round of the day with a 73 and also put together the tournament’s longest par-or-better streak, going seven straight holes from No. 8 through No. 14. Hoffman stayed within reach throughout and finished strongly enough to secure second place, while Sheri and Knoche matched each other on the leaderboard at even par.

There were a few notable individual highlights beyond the podium. Sheri led the field with four birdies or better, and Knoche’s best single hole was a birdie 3 on the par-4 12th. 

Chris Matsey and Knoche won the Net Best Ball title at San Marcos Golf & Country Club, finishing at 10-under par. They set the pace with a strong opening round of 10-under and held on with an even-par second round to stay clear of the field. Sheri/Saltzman and Creighton/Stevens tied for second at 7-under, while Wells/Hudak finished fourth at 6-under.

The early lead belonged to Creighton/Stevens after an opening 12-under round, but their five-over second round opened the door. Sheri/Saltzman were steady enough to move into the tie for second, backing up an 8-under first round with a one-over final round. Wells/Hudak also stayed in contention with back-to-back solid rounds, while Matsey/Knoche’s consistency over the two days proved enough to win the event.

In Team Nets Sum, Matsey/Knoche also took first at 3-under overall, ahead of Sheri/Saltzman at 1-over. Wells/Hudak were third at 12-over, with Creighton/Stevens fourth at 16-over. Matsey was the standout individual performer in the tournament, posting the best gross round with a 71 in round 2, leading the field with seven birdies or better, and stringing together a 12-hole par-or-better run from hole 7 through hole 18 in the second round. Ahmad Sheri’s birdie 2 on the par-3 eighth was the best single-hole score noted.

Chris Coomer won the Wednesday 7/1 Low Net & Skins at San Marcos Golf & Country Club, finishing at 4-under par in the Strokeplay Low Net competition. Danny Andersen and David Knoche tied for second at 2-under, with Terry Erhart taking fourth at 1-under to round out the top of the leaderboard.

Coomer’s victory came from the only round of the event, where he separated himself immediately with a 4-under performance. Andersen and Knoche both posted 2-under rounds to share second, while Erhart stayed in contention with a 1-under card. Ahmad Sheri, Chris Saltzman, and Victor Crumley all finished at even par, keeping the middle of the field tightly packed.
